This lovely, historic shingle style home on Pinehurst's No. 2 golf course needed more space for an active family. A two-story garage addition now provides extra room for a golf cart and bikes as well as two bedrooms on the second floor for the owners' teenaged sons with a “Jack and Jack” bathroom. The cedar shake gambrel roof details from the original home were carried through to the addition in order to keep it in context with the existing architecture.

The new, detached guest cottage also incorporates architectural details to complement the main house. The great room and patio overlook the greens of Pinehurst No. 2 and the cozy loft with built-in bunk beds give this cottage a warm and inviting atmosphere.
